Family and Community Services offers skill-building opportunities and support to help individuals develop the skills necessary to live independently and as part of their neighborhoods and communities.
Direct support professionals work closely with individuals, one on one and in group settings, to assist them in learning daily living activities ranging from laundry, grocery shopping, menu planning and budgeting to learning to access the community resources in their neighborhoods. All services are provided in the community or the individual’s home.
Financial assistance for family recreation activities and transportation to low-income families are available. To be eligible, individuals must be living at home with their family and be a Monroe County resident.
