Dear Families,

We wanted to update you on the guidance that’s presently in place for visiting your loved one at their Catholic Charities home. The standards we must follow are provided to us through the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

If you will be visiting your loved one at their Catholic Charities home, please be advised that if there are any residents who have COVID or are suspected to have COVID, you will be unable to visit. This is for your own safety and the safety of the residents and staff.

Families must contact the residential manager or management staff before visiting at the house. Outdoor visits are still preferred, and we are hoping that the weather becomes warmer to help with outdoor visits. If you visit indoors the staff will let you know the areas of the house that can be used for visiting.

If you plan on taking your loved out of the residence, please be advised that our staff will be asking you a series of COVID- related questions for safety. Please keep gatherings small and limited to those who are in your immediate household. During the time you are together, please continue to practice social distancing and wear masks.

We continue to follow strict cleaning and sanitizing protocols, and staff in the residences are wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) to help prevent the transmission of COVID. We have purchased HEPA Air Purifiers for each of the residences to help keep air clean. Residents as well as staff, are monitored regularly for illness. Know that our staff have been working tirelessly around the clock and continue to provide compassionate and safe care.

Finally, we are optimistic that the vaccine will be the needed relief we have all been waiting so long for.

Please contact your Residential Manager at the house, or either of us by calling the main office at 585-339-9800 if you have questions or concerns. Thank you for entrusting us with the support and care of your loved ones.

Executive Director
