Rochester, NY… CFC is grateful to announce that Empty Bowls 2020 will once again happen – but at home! Empty Bowls Rochester will look different but be just as special. Rochester has consistently supported Empty Bowls in the past, and we wanted to share how you can participate this year.

From November 30 - December 6, #EmptyBowlsAtHome2020 will take the form of a “house party” – either safely in a friend or family member’s home, or online, using a tool like Zoom – whichever the host and guests feels is best, in accordance with current safety guidelines.

Suggests Jessica Regan, Director of Fund Development for CFC, “If you are already planning a small holiday gathering, please consider using the opportunity to have your own Empty Bowls night. Invite up to 10 friends to join you, enjoy some holiday fellowship, and make a donation in support of ending hunger for families in crisis in Rochester.” Hosts who register their in-home or online gathering by November 23rd will be delivered a supply of one-of-a-kind bowls handmade by local artists to distribute to their guests.

Empty Bowls is a grassroots effort that raises awareness and money to address homelessness and hunger in towns and cities across the nation. Proceeds benefit people in crisis served by Catholic Family Center throughout Monroe County.

Together, we can fill those empty bowls.

In 2019, artists of all ages throughout the area donated over 800 bowls. Bowl sales and donations from generous sponsors netted more than $29,000 to address the needs of people in crisis here in Rochester.

Suggested donation: $50 per person, but a gift in any amount will go directly to support those who need it the most this season. To register an #EmptyBowlsAtHome2020 event, or to make a donation, visit the event website or email events@cfcrochester.org.
