We are heartsick at the loss of life by the hands of a teenager whose actions and motivations are cruel and unfathomable. Please continue to join us in prayer for the victims, their families, and the community of Buffalo, NY.

Meanwhile, if you are feeling a need to take any action or otherwise offer support, here are some ways you can make a sincere and meaningful impact:

  • Check in with your colleagues and neighbors, especially those of color and/or with connections to the Buffalo community, and see how they are doing. There are many we know and love who are having a very difficult time processing their own grief and fears.
  • Many of us understand the issue of food insecurity and its impact on families, particularly those living in city neighborhoods.
    • Consider how you can make a difference for many of the Buffalo East Side community while their TOPS store is closed and/or slowly re-opening by participating in the FeedMore WNY food drive and distribution efforts.
    • Non-perishable protein foods, shelf-stable fruit and veg and other resources can be dropped off at their Rochester warehouse located at 91 Holt Street, Buffalo, NY 14206.
    • For more details on food collection and information on how to volunteer, make cash donations, and how food will be distributed in Buffalo can be found <
  • Cash donations will help ensure Buffalo Together, a Community Response Fund organized by NationalCompassion.org and TOPS and vetted by the United Way, will provide important resources for both immediate community needs and long-term recovery.
  • And, please keep the victims and their families and the Buffalo community in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for being instruments of peace. YOU make a difference in the lives of so many. Where there is hatred, you work to sow love and kindness.
